Bath time photos

Sorry terrible picture
but I am trying to give you an idea of how I have them set up in the bathroom
Today I am showing some of the pictures that decorate my bathroom wall.  After my 1st little man was born I could not decided how to decorate his bathroom.  I wanted something cute but not so kiddish, since it is our guest bathroom also.  After a few failed ideas I was looking through some of the 100s of pictures I had taken of him. (every mommy knows what I mean about all those pics)  I came across the ones of him in the tub and that we had taken when he was wrapped in a towel.

Well they were just too adorable to put in a album that no one might see but not really the types of photos you display in your living room.  (Which was already covered with photos, :)  I was one proud momma and well he is just adorable!) Since I had company coming and I was in a pinch to decorate, I decided to put his pictures up.  After I got them up I loved them.  What a great way to celebrate your little ones and decorate your bathroom with very related decor.  :)

I got the idea for this post from a friend that was thinking about putting pictures of her little one in bubbles in her bathroom.  I had never thought that my pictures were a great idea but after several comments about how original that was, I decided well hey my readers might think so too.  So I guess my quick and cheap need for decorations and my craze with showing off my cute baby may have been an original idea worthy of blogging about.  ;)  Have a great one!

Random Tidbits

Well I had high hopes for today :) but well life happened.  But I am so ok with it.  Let me tell you what my perfectly planned day consisted of.  I was going to link up to a few parties(something I just started this week yay), add a new post about a cute craft, do some sewing, and clean the dishes all with plenty of time for myself to relax and enjoy my little one.  My mother in law came to get my 2 yr old for a little fun so I should have no reason not to get to all my tasks.  Well it is 2 and I still have done none of those things.  My little one was a little extra fussy and then I spent most of the morning talking with my cousin via skype about some issues she is facing.  And while I look at all the things I didn't do I did take the time to spend with the people that needed me at the moment.  I love spending time with my little one and anytime I can connect with my family is great.  My cousin has moved away and it has left such a little hole in my heart we were crafting pals and she is having a rocky go right now so what we both needed was to chat and see each other.
Well that is it nothing exciting today sorry, but do remember to take the time to slow down and spend with those who matter to you.  If a friend or family member comes to mind go ahead and make the call, God has a way of putting those people on your heart and mind when they need you or maybe you need them.
Anyway have a wonderful weekend, enjoy and relax, and of course try to create when you can!  :)  Whether it is food, fashion, or home decor find something that interests you.  Oh and hopefully next week I will have two new posts a yummy recipe and a cute craft.
Oh oh I do have a small tip!!  I know everyone eats bread and no one likes to eat a sandwich on the end pieces so when they are all you have left cut them into 3 wide strips and put them in a freezer bag.  Then when you are ready to make some french toast pull them out and toss them in some egg, milk, and cinnamon and cook away.  You now have finger friendly french toast sticks for your little ones.  :)  Or you can always toast them for homemade croutons.

Springy Ruffle Wreath

Ok I have a quick, easy, and very cute craft to share today.  Spring has sprung and every where I look I see these adorable wreaths on doors.  Most have big ribbons and flowers, and while I am not against that look, it is everywhere and well I wanted something a bit different.  I needed a springy cute wreath for my door that didn't cost a fortune.  I found a blog called Tattered and Inked and she had made a huge ruffly wreath with a bright pop of color so I decided to try my hand at it.  I did not put near as many ruffles on mine because I liked the material better and well pushing 100 plus straight pins into a foam ring starts to wear on the fingers.  So it turned out to be a bit mismatchy but fun and I love it!!  Hope you enjoy.

I do not have a complete tutorial for this wreath (again made it before I entered blogging world) but it is very simple and I will break it down for you.  I bought a cheap foam wreath from Michaels, but any wreath form will work.  Then I found some super fun and bright fabric from Hancocks and some brown felt.  I cut a skinny long rectangle out of my material and then wrapped it around my wreath form and pinned it.  Oh use small silver topped straight pins so they don't show.  Ok now for the part that takes a bit more time.  You need to trace and cut out lots I mean lots of brown circles.  You can make them as big as you want just play around with different sizes of circles.  (Plan to cut the circles when you have lots of time on your hands like if you are riding in the car or you can cut them out while you watch tv.)  After you have your circles you will want to pinch and twist them and then stick a pin in them.  You can put as many or as few circles as you want.  The wreath I saw was completely covered with felt petals but I wanted my fabulous fabric to show more, so I went around in a thin line.  Then I took the same fabric and cut out a very thin super long strip to make a bow out of.  I used pinking shears to cut mine to add some cute detail to the sides.  Then I tied a floppy big six ruffle bow.

I found a big button in my stash and sewed it to the middle.  Lastly I pinned it on the wreath.  I wanted a little more contrast so I added some pale blue ribbon with brown polka dots.  (who doesn't love polka dots) The ribbon did not really match but it works for some reason.  I also used the ribbon to make a loop at the top to attach it to my door.  Ok now go out and make one for yourself.  Change it around a bit and make it your own.  :)  You could also add a painted wooden letter instead of a bow or in the middle for your last name if you would like.
